As a SAP SuccessFactors Consultant you will serve as a client-facing practitioner who sells, leads and implements expert services utilizing the breadth of IBM's offerings and technologies. A successful Consultant is regarded by clients as a trusted business advisor who collaborates to provide innovative solutions used to solve the most challenging business problems.
In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
As consultant for SAP SuccessFactors Talent Management, you are a senior subject matter expert who leads the design, configuration, and delivery of Talent Management solutions within the SAP SuccessFactors suite.
This role focuses on modules such as Performance & Goals, Succession & Development, Career Development Planning, Learning, and Compensation, ensuring they are implemented to deliver strategic business outcomes for our clients.
The consultant partners with clients, HR leaders, and technical teams to shape transformational talent strategies, ensure best practice adoption, and enable measurable improvements in workforce performance.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Solution Consulting & Design
- Lead discovery sessions to understand client talent management processes, pain points, and strategic priorities.
- Translate business requirements into functional designs for SuccessFactors Talent Management modules.
- Lead the configuration of modules such as Performance & Goals, Succession Planning, Career Development Planning, Compensation, and Learning with the support of near- and offshore teams reporting into you in order to meet client needs.
- Recommend process improvements and system capabilities to align with HR strategy.
- Define scope and estimate efforts for the implementation of SuccessFactors Talent Modules based on client specified requirements.
- Implementation Leadership
- Serve as the functional lead for Talent Management workstreams in SuccessFactors programs.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery, including requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, training, deployment, and go-live support.
- Ensure all solutions follow SAP best practices and are aligned to the organization’s governance model.
- Client Engagement & Advisory
- Act as the trusted advisor to senior HR and business leaders on Talent Management processes and technology.
- Present solution recommendations, prototypes, and roadmaps to stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops and change management activities to drive adoption.
- Integration & Data Considerations
- Collaborate with integration teams to ensure Talent modules are seamlessly connected to other HR and ERP systems.
- Advise on data migration strategies, data governance, and reporting requirements.
- Support configuration of Talent dashboards, analytics, and KPIs.
- Release & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor SAP SuccessFactors release updates relevant to Talent Management and assess their applicability.
- Recommend adoption of new features to enhance functionality and user experience.
- Lead post-implementation reviews and optimization initiatives.
- Knowledge Sharing & Mentoring
- Mentor junior consultants and configuration specialists.
- Contribute to internal knowledge repositories, templates, and best practice documentation.
- Support pre-sales activities, including proposals, demonstrations, and scoping exercises.
- 8–10+ years of experience in HR technology consulting, with at least 5+ years in SAP SuccessFactors Talent Management modules.
- Deep functional expertise in multiple Talent modules (Performance & Goals, Succession & Development, Learning, Compensation).
- Strong understanding of talent management processes, frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Experience in multi-country, large-scale implementations.
- Excellent workshop facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work across business and technical teams to deliver complex solutions.
- Language skills: Fluent in written and spoken English and German
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as mental flexibility
- Strong ability to analyse situations and solve problems
- Willingness to work on-site with our customers
